Career Consulting

The Culpeper Career Resource Center offers personal employment counseling. Please read the following about who, what and where ....

Who may use our career consulting services?
Residents of Planning District 9 may receive career consulting services without charge. Planning District 9 includes the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock, and the towns within those country areas (Culpeper, Gordonsville, Madison, Orange, Remington, The Plains, Warrenton and Washington).

How can I schedule an appointment with the career consultant?
Our certified career consultant may be consulted individually by appointment. Please call Culpeper Career Resource Center, at (540) 727-1055, or send an e-mail to info@ccrc-jobs.com to schedule an appointment.

For what topics can I receive help from the career consultant?
Individual consultations can cover a variety of career and job search topics depending on the needs of the client. Past consultations have included career and job search documentation (preparation of resumes, cover and thank you letters, and lists of references), career informational or advice interviewing, career networking, job search techniques, changing career fields or occupations, job interview techniques, computerized searches for career and job-related information, self marketing, assessments of career aptitudes and interests, skills identification and assessment of transferable skills, and training, education, certification, and licensing that may be needed to enter a new occupation or to advance in a current occupation. When appropriate, career assessment instruments such as Career Scope ® and the COPS Interest InventoryTM are administered to explore additional career options. Clients receive individual feedback about the results of these career assessment instruments and how the results can be used to consider new career options or to broaden existing careers.

Are classes available for career and job search topics?
Classes on career and job search topics also are offered from time-to-time. These classes, offered without charge to the residents of Planning District 9, will be posted on the Workshops, Seminars, Events page of this website and also may be announced in the local newspaper or by other means.

Need more information? Any questions concerning career consulting services should be directed to the Culpeper Career Resources Center at (540) 727-1055 or, via e-mail, to info@ccrc-jobs.com.
